Accuracy
The stats calculator uses real world data from 100s of cars in conjunction with mathematical formulae in order to estimate the above times and speeds. Of course it’s not a perfect system, unfortunately there are simply too many variables to be 100% accurate e.g. tyres, gearing, aerodynamics, electronic aids, environmental conditions… even factory timing errors. These can all affect the actual performance times of a car to various degrees which we simply cannot compute for, at least not in a fun and easy to use calculator! That said, we think you will find that in most instances our car stats calculator is accurate to within a few tenths of a second, certainly enough to give you a realistic and consistent estimation regardless of car type.
Modified Cars
Obviously most drivers know what their stock factory car will do, but what about a modified car? This is what the car stats calculator has really been designed for, a simple and consistent way to estimate real world performance. Of course you can also use the target calculator to work out how much bhp or weight reduction is needed to achieve a certain 0-60 or quarter mile time!
